NRI Will GeniusWills for Indian assets

About NRI Will Genius

NRI Will Genius is an online will-generation service designed specifically for Non-Resident Indians with assets in India. It provides a guided self-service process for creating an India-specific Will online. The service costs $49 as a one-time purchase.

What the service does

NRI Will Genius asks a structured set of questions about you, your family, your executor and the assets you hold in India — property, bank accounts, deposits, demat holdings, mutual funds and other belongings. It uses those answers to produce a Will written for Indian assets, which you can read in full before deciding whether to buy it.

The finished document is delivered as a PDF and an editable Word file, together with instructions for signing it in front of two witnesses. You can edit your answers and regenerate the document free of charge for 12 months after purchase.

NRI Will Genius is a self-service document-preparation service. It does not provide individualized legal advice, and using it does not create a lawyer–client relationship.

Consider individualized professional advice when dealing with circumstances such as:

  • complex multi-country estate structures
  • significant tax-planning issues
  • family disputes or a contested estate
  • business succession
  • trusts or complex ownership structures
  • uncertainty about how multiple Wills interact
  • other unusual legal circumstances

This list is not exhaustive and is not a legal determination about your situation.

Editorial approach

The guides and question pages on this site are written by the NRI Will Genius editorial team and cite primary sources, such as the Indian Succession Act, 1925 and the Registration Act, 1908, wherever a legal point is made. Pages carry the date they were last updated. Where a page has been reviewed by a qualified professional, that review is named on the page; where no such review has taken place, no reviewer is claimed.

Read the guides library or browse answered questions.
